15:45 Local Time, 20:15 IST: Not much has changed with regards to the weather and there's only around an hour left before we reach the cut-off match time for the match to be called off.

14:50 Local Time, 13:50 GMT, 19:20 IST: Scenario still the same. It's not quite bucketing down now, but good enough to keep the umbrellas up. Groundsmen have at least 2 puddles to allowment with on the outfield. The DJ entertaining the crowd.

14:30 Local Time, 13:30 GMT, 19:00 IST: Still raining and coming down quite hard. Lots of water on the covers and this will take a lot of mopping once it clears. Thankfully the second game of the double-hander is at Old Trafford, where the Originals are hosting the Phoenix in the women's game first. The men will follow suit. For now, the animating Shafali Verma is out there with the bat in hand. Hop tabs for the action.

14:20 Local Time, 13:20 GMT, 18:50 IST: A puddle being formed by the water being drained out off the main covers. We are hearing that 16:43 is the latest a 25-ball game can start.

More covers coming on to protect the bowler run-ups. "It is lashing down at Lord's" says Ian Ward on air. It's gone really dark! Groundsmen bring on extra covers to cover the sides as well.

14:09 Local Time, 13:09 GMT, 18:39 IST: Uh oh! We can see umbrellas going up. It is drizzling. In fact it's coming down now. The covers are on too. Can see a bit of blue sky in the horizon. Looks like a start-stop day.

London Spirit have won the toss result and have opted to field

The Hundred has been the talk of the town. It's different, it's rapid, it's been entertaining too. Well, why wouldn't any tournament be animating when you have the England regulars playing! 160 seems to be the score to challenge if you bat first and look to defend. We've seen enough evidence that keeping wickets in hand helps with power acceleration comes the end even in this format. So it need not to be just bang, bang and lose the way like a few teams have learnt thus far. The Oval Invincibles held its nerve against Manchester Originals in the openers. The London Spirit got its first taste yesterday. Warne and Morgan will want to open the account today. toss result and more shortly...
