However, Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, dropped a few points, slipping below the 900-mark for the first time in Test rankings since January 2018. He is now 38 points adrift of the top-ranked Steven Smith.

India won the first Test of the three-match series by a massive margin of 203 runs. The second Test of the rubber will be played in Pune, starting on October 10.
