Player of the Match

That concludes today's action at the Big Bash. Join us tomorrow as the Stars host the Strikers. Should be another cracking game. For now, cheers and bye..

Curran - Nice to come here and get a win, we needed it, good performance from the boys. Nice to get a few off the middle of the bat, it helped us take momentum going into the second innings. Jackson Bird was outstanding, it was good to see him come back well.

Tom Curran is the Man of the Match

Second win for the Sixers and both have come against the Scorchers. The last-over burst from Tom Curran, which ensured that the visitors finished with 174 on the board proved to be the turning point of the contest. The hosts never got going with the bat, losing their top five with just 34 on the board - Bird getting three on his return. Ashton Turner tried to turn things around, but he was one amongst several batsmen guilty of playing daft shots. This win pushes the Sixers into third while the Scorchers languish at seventh.

18.1 Dwarshuis to Fawad Ahmed, out Caught by Tom Curran!! Oh dear! Ahmed wants a piece of action and ends up holing out to long-on. Backed away to a length ball, didn't get hold of the shot and only managed to pick Curran at long-on. Fawad Ahmed c Tom Curran b Dwarshuis 1(2)

Dwarshuis to Fawad Ahmed, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

17.6 Abbott to Kelly, no run, nicely bowled, followed Kelly with a very full yorker, Kelly swings and misses

17.5 Abbott to Kelly, no run, good comeback from Abbott, slower bouncer outside off, Kelly watches it go through to the keeper - not given as a wide and the Perth crowd don't like it

17.4 Abbott to Kelly, SIX, Kelly is playing a fine cameo, making up for his poor show with the ball - picked the slower back of a length delivery outside off and deposited it wide of long-on, has enough power to sail over the ropes

17.3 Abbott to Fawad Ahmed, 1 run, on a good length and just outside off, stabbed wide of cover for a single

Fawad Ahmed, right handed bat, comes to the crease

17.2 Abbott to J Richardson, out Caught by Bird!! Richardson falls in the quest for quick runs - he spotted the slower ball, got underneath the lofted drive, but failed to get the elevation - straight into the hands of Bird at long-on. The Sixers are one wicket away from completing a fine victory. J Richardson c Bird b Abbott 14(15) [6s-1]

Abbott to J Richardson, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

17.1 Abbott to J Richardson, SIX, swatted, slower short ball from Abbott, but it simply sat up to be smacked - Richardson stood tall and heaved it high and wide of mid-wicket for a maximum

Sean Abbott [3.0-0-17-2] is back into the attack

PRS: 113-8 after 17 overs

16.6 Tom Curran to Kelly, FOUR, drilled, Curran misses out on the yorker, offers a length ball and it's creamed back past the bowler - to the right of mid-off and the ball scurries away to the ropes

16.5 Tom Curran to Kelly, no run, another slower ball outside off, Kelly was way too early on the swipe, gets a toe-end that bounces well in front of the keeper

16.3 Tom Curran to Kelly, SIX, clubbed, length ball at the stumps, Kelly gets underneath the ball and clubs it high and over mid-wicket for a maximum
