Profile
Cousin of well known Proteas pacer Rory Kleinveldt and son of first-class cricketer Johnny Kleinveldt, Matthew Kleinveldt was born in England but moved to South Africa in order to pursue his career in cricket. It wasn't by choice but due to the visa regulations that Matthew was forced to play domestic cricket in South Africa and not Hampshire. The lanky left-handed batsman made his debut for Cape Cobras in 2012 and his first-class debut for Western Province way back in 2010. Although Rory has played handful of international matches for South Africa, Matthew Kleinveldt hasn't got the chance to do so and it's probably due to his lack of constancy.

Being born and brought up in England, Matthew has played for Hampshire Second XI, Essex Second XI and Sussex Second XI in his early cricketing career; hence his technique to play swing and seam bowling is eye-catching. Apart from his batting, the South African can also bowl gentle offbreaks. He has 80-plus wickets in first-class cricket and that prove his abilities as a handy all-rounder.
